This is an update regarding County Clerk closures - August 31, 2011

Montgomery County is currently under a State of Emergency. Non-emergency offices will be closed until at least Tuesday, September 6th 2011.
Public notice: The County is currently working on emergency services and recovery. Other services are suspended until further notice.
County employees should not report to work until contacted by their supervisor.
Orange County Government Center Closed Wednesday August 31.
Deputy County Executive of Orange County James D. O'Donnell, in consultation with County Executive Edward A. Diana, will close the Orange County Government Center at 255 Main Street in Goshen on Wednesday, August 31 for a third day due to damage the building sustained as a result of excessive rain during Hurricane Irene.
Web site inactive; phones out. Albany newspaper indicates serious flooding in Schoharie. Office is likely closed.

The Orange County Emergency Communications Office has informed us that the Orange County Clerk's Office will remain closed for an indefinite period of time due to the damage from Hurricane Irene.
The Clerk's office is currently attempting to locate a temporary facility. Once secured, the county clerk will begin the process of transferring its salvaged records to that facility. They hope to have an update by Tuesday September 6th as to where and when they will be operational.
Orange County has no online system and at present, all records are unavailable to the public.
The County Clerk has set up a satellite office at the Department of Social Services Building, 11Quarry Road, Goshen, NY 10924, to process the following services:
• Filing of court papers.
• The processing of passports (including photos).
• Pistol permits (partial service).
• The filing of maps.
At present the Orange County Clerk is not accepting any land records documents for recording.
